Abstract: The present invention relates to an automated laboratory chemical inventory management and retrieval system designed to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of chemical storage and retrieval in laboratory environments. The system comprises a comprehensive database management system that stores detailed information about each chemical, including its name, molecular mass, concentration, and precise location within the laboratory. A unique identification system using barcodes or QR codes is affixed to each chemical bottle, allowing for seamless integration with barcode or QR code scanners installed on smart racks. These smart racks, constructed from a combination of aluminum and wood, house photosensor circuitry and infrared (IR) sensors to detect the presence and correct placement of chemical bottles, providing real-time feedback and alerts for misplacement. The user interface allows searching by molecular weight and shows chemical locations. A communication module enables real-time updates and access by authorized personnel over a network.
