The application for the patent was published on July 24, 2026, under issue no. 30/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT AUTOMATED LEAF CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM AND METHOD USING PROGRESSIVE CONVEYOR SPACING An automated system for classification of leaf samples is disclosed. The system comprises a feed conveyor configured to receive bulk leaf samples and a vibratory feeder configured to distribute the leaf samples into a substantially single-layer arrangement. A spacer conveyor assembly including a plurality of conveyors arranged sequentially and operating at progressively increasing speeds is provided to generate increasing spacing between adjacent leaf samples during transport. An imaging module captures images of the leaf samples as they move through the spacer conveyor assembly. A processing unit comprising an artificial intelligence-based image processing module analyzes the captured images to detect, classify, and count individual leaf samples. The progressively increasing conveyor speeds reduce overlap between leaf samples in the captured images, enabling reliable detection and classification of individual leaf samples. The system facilitates automated inspection and classification of leaf samples based on image-based analysis. Fig. 1
