Abstract: An automated livestock monitoring device for electrical fence comprises of a pair of extendable bodies 101 having first and second sides, the bodies 101 are connected at the first sides by means of a pivot joint 102 that enables positioning of the second sides in proximity to the wires, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 104 installed over one of the bodies 101 for capturing and processing images of surroundings, a proximity sensor installed over one of the bodies 101 and synced with the imaging unit 104 to monitor presence and distance of a supporting cable, a motorized drawer arrangement 201 installed in each of the bodies 101 to provide extension to the bodies 101, a motorized gripper 105 configured with the first sides to grip the supporting cable, an impact sensor installed over one of the bodies 101 to monitor impact experienced by the bodies 101.
