Abstract: Medical imaging, like MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) of the brain, is a powerful tool for examining brain structure and identifying neurological issues. However, conventional MRI scans produce a series of 2D images that can make it challenging to visualize the complex three dimensional structure of the brain. MRI scans usually produce a series of flat 2D images that show slices of the brain which can make it challenging to fully understand complex structures. This project focuses on transforming these 2D MRI images into a single 3D model, creating a clearer three dimensional view of the anatomy. We apply advanced techniques to extract the surface of this 3D structure, creating a detailed 3D model that closely represents the actual anatomy. This 3D model can be viewed and explored interactively allowing doctors to see a realistic view of the body from different angles. By making it easier to interpret MRI data in 3D, this project aims to support doctors in diagnosing conditions more accurately and planning treatments with greater confidence, ultimately improving patient care.
