Abstract: An automated pipe bundling device comprising a support structure positioned adjacent a bundle of pipes, a feeding arrangement guiding a metal bundling sheet circumferentially around the bundle and a pipe holding platform, cradle, or fixture stabilizing the pipes during bundling, a thickness detection module measures sheet thickness, a gripping and tensioning assembly engages one or more end portions of the sheet to apply circumferential tension, a force sensing module detects applied tension force, and an end detection module identifies positions of opposing sheet ends, a control unit determines a target tension based on detected thickness and regulates the gripping and tensioning assembly in accordance with the target tension and detected force, a joining module to secure the opposing sheet ends, thereby enabling controlled, thickness based, and force regulated bundling of pipe assemblies.
