Abstract: Automated Road lightening with integrated road monitoring system The present invention relates to an Internet of Things (IoT)-based automated street lighting system with integrated brightness control and centralized fault detection mechanism. The system is configured in a grid-based architecture comprising a Master Controller Unit for controlling a plurality of street light units. A photovoltaic cell is employed for ambient light detection without external power consumption, enabling automatic switching of lights via a Master Relay. Each street light unit includes a motion sensing module and a Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) based brightness control circuit, wherein illumination is reduced in absence of motion and restored to full intensity upon motion detection. The system further comprises voltage and current monitoring modules for real-time power analytics and data transmission to a remote platform using MQTT protocol. A centralized fault detection mechanism sequentially activates individual lamps and identifies faults based on current variations, enabling precise fault localization without per-pole sensors, GPS, or GSM dependency.
