Abstract: The present invention relates to autonomous aerial inspection systems for railway infrastructure, and particularly to a system and method for surveillance, inspection, and fault detection of railway optical fiber corridors using an aerial platform. The system includes a flight controller, propulsion system, onboard power source, navigation unit, imaging module, optional thermal sensing module, onboard processing module, communication module, storage module, and a server with a monitoring dashboard. The aerial platform is autonomously navigated along a railway-aligned mission route to capture visual and optionally thermal data of cable runs and surrounding corridor conditions. The onboard processing module identifies anomalies, generates geotagged inspection events with coordinates, timestamps, and evidence, stores inspection records, and transmits anomaly information to the server for route-wise monitoring, alerts, and historical comparison.
