Abstract: ABSTRACT: Autonomous Multi-Modal Robotic System for Precision Venous and Subcutaneous Injection This invention describes an autonomous multi-modal robotic injection system configured to accurately identify suitable venous or subcutaneous injection sites and perform controlled needle insertion. The system integrates near-infrared imaging, three-dimensional depth mapping, and thermal sensing to acquire anatomical and vascular data of a patient’s limb. A control and processing unit performs data fusion to generate a vascular map and determine an optimal injection site based on parameters including vessel depth, diameter, continuity, and tissue characteristics. A robotic actuation mechanism executes a computed needle trajectory with high precision. During insertion, real-time verification is performed using feedback signals such as tissue resistance, pressure variation, and fluid response to confirm correct placement. A safety monitoring subsystem ensures controlled operation and prevents procedural errors. The system is particularly advantageous for patients with difficult venous access, improving accuracy, reducing repeated attempts, and enhancing overall procedural safety.
