MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541100067 A) filed by C. R. Rajaseharan; and N. Janardhanan on October 16, 2025, for Autonomous Regenerative Power System For Electric Vehicles.

Inventors include C. R. Rajaseharan; and N. Janardhanan.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: Title: Autonomous Regenerative Power System for Electric Vehicles An autonomous regenerative electric power system for electric vehicles comprises a battery (10) supplying DC power to an inverter (20) and a specialized variable frequency drive (VFD) (30) operating a brushless AC motor (40). A brushless AC alternator (50) is mechanically coupled to the brushless AC motor (40) at identical RPM to produce AC electrical energy, which passes through a specialized VFD (55) to directly power an AC torque motor (60) driving the vehicle drivetrain. An AC dynamo / Alternator with internal rectifier (70) mechanically linked to the AC torque motor (60) continuously converts kinetic energy into electrical energy during vehicle motion or idling, feeding regenerated power back to recharge the battery (10) in a closed regenerative loop. Supported by air or active magnetic bearings or fluid film bearings or low friction bearings, the system minimizes rotational drag to maintain on board energy balance without relying on external plug-in charging.
