Abstract: ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION The present invention discloses an Autonomous Research Assistant system designed to automate the process of information retrieval, semantic analysis, and knowledge generation from diverse digital sources. The system integrates Natural Language Processing fNLP), vector-based semantic search, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to provide accurate and contextaware responses to user queries. Upon receiving a query, the system performs real- time data acquisition from external sources using web scraping techniques or application programming interfaces (APIs). The retrieved data is preprocessed, segmented into smaller units, and converted into vector embeddings, which are stored in a vector database for efficient similaritybased retrieval. A retrieval module identifies relevant information based on semantic similarity, and a Large Language Model (LLM) generates coherent and meaningful responses using the retrieved data. The system further incorporates mechanisms for query optimization, result reranking, and response validation to enhance accuracy and reliability. The proposed invention improves efficiency in research and knowledge discovery by transforming unstructured data into concise, actionable insights, thereby reducing manual effort and enhancing user productivity.se.
