MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641114843 A) filed by Dr. Mgr Educational And Research Institute on September 25, 2026, for Banana Pseudo-Stem Staple Fibre Extraction Machine.
Inventors include Dr Venkatachalam Natarajan; Er. Vignesh Sasidharan; Er. Manoj Madhavan; and Dr. Palaniappan Palanisamy.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: The invention is related to an equipment for fibre extraction from Banana pseudo-stem waste in the-form of staple fibre. The Banana-Fibre-Extraction Equipment disclosed-herein, addresses the above-mentioned need for a system, to facilitate extraction of Banana Fibre from pseudo-stem waste in Cut Staple form. The invention also addresses the process of extraction of banana fibre at a very high production rate by making the fibre extraction •p rocess easier. As per this invention, banana pseudo-stem sheath is first cut into individual pieces of required length in a separate machine and then these individual pieces of PS Sheath are processed in the Automatic Cut Staple Banana Fibre Extraction machine through the feeder section followed by an aligning mechanism, an automatic fibre extraction section, a reversing mechanism. The present invention discloses an Automatic Cut Staple Banana Fibre Extraction machine. Automatic Cut Staple Banana Fibre Extraction machine includes a Feed reserve Bin (101) for Pseudo-stem sheath pieces (102) and a feed conveyors (104) with suitable holding means (105). Evener Rollers 106 & 107 are provided in close proximity to the conveyer to ensure even feeding of pieces to the Fibre Extraction zone. In a typical embodiment of the Automatic Cut Staple Banana Fibre Extraction machine (100), includes a Feed Conveyor (109), a Piece Aligning Mechanism (108) followed by the Pt Set of Feeding & Fibre Extraction Opener system (110) & (111). A Piece Reversing Means (112) is placed between Opening Roller (111) and the delivery Conveyor (113). Conveyor system (113) along with Feed Roller set (114) feeds the 2nd Opening Roller (115) followed by a delivery Conveyor (116) and a Collection Bin (118). A Piece Aligning mechanism (108), shown as a Blow-up view, composes of one or more circular or rectangular bars (123) with a number of hanging fingers (124) separated by a distance more than the cut length of pieces and this bars are given an oscillating motion in the transverse direction by a suitable mechanism (125). • Pseudo-stem pieces are opened partially by opening roller (111) and the process is completed by the 2"d opening roller (115) and collected as fibre (116) in bin (118).
