Abstract: The present disclosure proposes a battery management system (100) for fault-tolerant control of a battery pack. The battery management system (100) comprises a controller (102) having at least one processor (104) and memory (106), and a battery sensor interface (108) receiving battery measurements from a current sensor (120), voltage sensor (122), and temperature sensor (124). The processor (104) executes a state observation module (110), an equivalent input disturbance estimation module (112), a sensor reconstruction module (114), and an adaptive fault-tolerant control module (116). The modules estimate battery state and equivalent input disturbance, reconstruct a sensor measurement affected by a sensor fault, replace the affected measurement in a closed-loop battery-control path, and generate a battery control input. A battery-control output interface (118) supplies the control input to a switching element (126) for charging, balancing, discharge, and protection control.
