MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621073643 A) filed by Ankur Jain; and Anindita Tiwari on June 13, 2026, for Battery Management System And Method For Threshold-Triggered Cell Equalization.
Inventor includes Ankur Jain.
The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT BATTERY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR THRESHOLD-TRIGGERED CELL EQUALIZATION The present invention relates to a battery management system (100) and a method (200) for operating a rechargeable electrochemical energy storage device comprising a plurality of series-connected cells. The system (100) comprises a cell monitoring circuitry (102) configured to acquire operating parameters of individual cells, a threshold control circuitry (104) configured to detect occurrence of a predefined battery operating threshold, a power-path control circuitry (106) configured to interrupt charging or discharging, an equalization circuitry (108) configured to perform cell equalization while charging and discharging remain interrupted, and a convergence-verification circuitry (110) configured to determine completion of equalization based on an inter-cell convergence criterion. The method (200) comprises monitoring (202), detecting (204), interrupting (206), performing (208), determining (210), and restoring (212), wherein charging or discharging is restored only after completion of cell equalization has been confirmed. FIG. 1 will be the reference figure.
