Abstract: BEAM BASED ARCHITECTURE IN 6G NETWORKS The present disclosure discloses a method and a Next Generation Radio Access Network (NGRAN) node for mobility management in beam-based network. The method comprises configuring coverage area of NG-RAN nodes into one or more beam groups. The method includes determining set of active beams serving a User Equipment (UE) at first position, from one or more beam groups. The set of active beams associated with one of: same beam group and distinct beam groups, of the one or more beam groups. The method includes tracking mobility of UE from first position towards second position. The method includes continuously updating set of active beams serving the UE, based on tracking and measurement reports of the UE. The updated set of active beams is associated with one of: same beam group and different beam groups, as that of determined set of active beams. [Fig. 1]
