Abstract: ABSTRACT BIDIRECTIONAL DRIVE SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR TRANSMISSION OF TORQUE IN BIDIRECTIONAL DRIVE OF A VEHICLE The present disclosure relates to a system (100) and method (700) for bidirectional torque transmission of a vehicle. The vehicle includes a propeller shaft (103) coupled to an engine to transmit driving torque, a crown wheel (101) engaged with a pinion (102) mounted on the propeller shaft (103), and a differential assembly (300) operatively coupled with a pair of axle shafts (105A, 105B) to drive the wheels. The system (100) comprises a casing crown wheel (104) for transmitting torque to a shuttle mechanism (200). The shuttle mechanism (200) comprises a carrier ring gear (201), a ring gear (202) with internal teeth (202A), a sun gear (203), a plurality of planet gears (204), and a shuttle collar (205). The shuttle collar (205) is selectively engaged with the carrier ring gear (201) or the sun gear (203) to enable forward or reverse drive modes.
