Abstract: ABSTRACT Title: Bio-coagulant from Brassica nigra seed defatted cake for the treatment of coal washery effluents and a process for the preparation thereof. The present invention relates to a bio- coagulant from Brassica nigra 5 seed defatted cake for the treatment of coal washery effluents and a process for the preparation thereof. The bio-coagulant from Brassica nigra (Mustard) seed defatted cake is used for the removal of the fine particles present in coal washery effluents. The bio- coagulant 10 is highly effective in trapping the otherwise lost coal fines in traditional washery operations. The bio-coagulant is economical, sustainable and prepared without any chemical process and thus, is eco-friendly. Also, the fines lost in the washery effluent can be trapped, adding value and economic benefits to the existing washery operations.
