Inventors include Dr. Mahavir Chhajed; Dr. Abhimanyu Singh Rathore; Mr. Devendra Dulkar; Mr. Manoj Mandloi; Mr. Ankit Panchal; Mrs. Jyoti Yadav; and Mrs. Pooja Sinha.
The application for the patent was published on June 19, 2026, under issue no. 25/2026.
Abstract: A bio-sensor integrated ingestible capsule for real-time gastrointestinal drug delivery and absorption monitoring is disclosed. The capsule comprises a biocompatible housing enclosing a drug reservoir, a controlled drug release mechanism, a plurality of biosensors, a microcontroller, a wireless communication module, and a power source. The biosensors are configured to detect physiological and biochemical parameters including pH, temperature, enzymatic activity, and drug concentration within the gastrointestinal tract. Based on sensed data, the microcontroller dynamically regulates the release of the therapeutic agent to achieve site-specific delivery. The system further transmits real-time data to an external device for monitoring and analysis. The invention enables precise drug delivery, direct assessment of drug absorption, and supports personalized treatment strategies while ensuring safe passage through the gastrointestinal system.
