MUMBAI, India, July 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641085039 A) filed by Cochin University Of Science And Technology Cusat on July 10, 2026, for Biocompatible Carbon Nanodots For Efficient Dna Staining.

Abstract: The present invention relates to fluorescent nanomaterials. Particularly, the present invention relates to fluorescent carbon nanodots for staining and detecting biomolecules. The fluorescent carbon nanodots of the present invention are safer and environmentally friendly and possess unique properties, such as strong fluorescence, high solubility in water, good photostability, and low toxicity compared with other fluorescent dyes.
