Abstract: “BIODEGRADABLE ABSORBENT ARTICLE” The present invention discloses a biodegradable absorbent article (100) that includes a permeable top sheet (105), an acquisition distribution layer (110), an absorbent core (115) positioned beneath the acquisition distribution layer, a tissue wrap (120) surrounding the absorbent core, a barrier layer (125) and a secondary barrier layer (130). The permeable top sheet and the acquisition distribution layer is composed of bamboo spunlace nonwoven fabric (112); the absorbent core (115) is composed of an absorbent composition (118) that includes tragacanth gum, psyllium husk and corn husk; and the barrier layers (125, 130) are composed of starch-based bioplastic composition (128). The present invention provides a biodegradable absorbent article (100) for menstrual hygiene that offers a sustainable, eco-friendly, high absorbency, and cost-effective solution, thereby promoting personal well-being and environmental sustainability.
