The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT A biodegradable and dissolvable orthodontic clear aligner and its method of fabrication are disclosed. The aligner is formed from a composite of biodegradable polymers, including polylactic acid (PLA), polycaprojactonc (PCL), and poly(iactic-co- giycolic acid) (PLGA). This composition provides the necessary mechanical properties for effective tooth movement over a typical wear period (e.g., 1-2 weeks), after which it undergoes controlled hydrolysis and dissolution in the oral cavity, typically within 7 to 21 days. The invention eliminates the plastic waste associated with conventional non-biodegradable aligners and improves patient compliance by removing the need for manual removal and disposal. The aligner can be produced by thermoforming a polymer sheet or via 3D printing and may include therapeutic additives. This technology offers an environmentally sustainable advancement in orthodontic treatment.
