Abstract: The present invention relates to a biodegradable triple coupled cantilever-based biosensor for ultra-sensitive mass detection and biological sensing applications. The biosensor comprises three mechanically coupled cantilever beams fabricated from biodegradable and biocompatible materials, enabling enhanced resonant characteristics, improved mass sensitivity, and environmentally sustainable operation. The triple coupled cantilever configuration generates multiple vibration modes with high quality factors, allowing precise detection of minute mass variations caused by the attachment of biomolecules, pathogens, proteins, DNA, viruses, or other biological analytes. The sensor is designed to amplify frequency shifts resulting from analyte adsorption, thereby improving detection accuracy compared to conventional single- and double-cantilever biosensors. The biodegradable structural material minimizes electronic waste and permits safe disposal after single-use or short-term diagnostic applications. The proposed biosensor is suitable for point-of-care diagnostics, environmental monitoring, food safety assessment, pharmaceutical analysis, and healthcare applications. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is employed to optimize the structural dimensions, resonant frequencies, stress distribution, and sensitivity of the coupled cantilever system. The invention provides a highly sensitive, low-cost, biodegradable, and eco-friendly biosensing platform capable of detecting ultra-low mass changes with improved stability, reliability, and repeatability.
