MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511009120 A) filed by Indian Council Of Medical Research; and Bharathiar University on February 04, 2025, for Biomaterial Electrolyte Membrane Comprising Cassia Fistula Flower (sarakondrai) For All-Solid- State Electrochemical Devices.

Inventors include Manoharan, Vengadesh Krishna; and Malaichamy, Ilanchelian.

The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.

Abstract: Provided herein is sustainable and innovative biomaterial derived from the Cassia fistula flower for use in energy storage systems like batteries and fuel cells. The biomaterial is used as an electrolyte membrane in all solid-state batteries and fuel cells. Also provided herein is a method for fabricating the electrolyte biomaterial membrane. The biomaterial electrolyte is used for active implantable medical device batteries.
