Abstract: ABSTRACT BIOMETRIC-ENABLED SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR EMERGENCY ACCESS TO PATIENT HEALTH RECORDS The present invention relates a bio-metric enabled system (100) and method for securely capturing patient fingerprint biometrics, creating or linking a unique Health Identification (Health ID), storing encrypted emergency health records on a cloud infrastructure, and enabling verified healthcare professionals to access critical patient information in real time across variable hospital environments during emergency. The system comprises Biometric Sensor Module (101) that captures patient fingerprints and generates encrypted, irreversible biometric templates; Health ID Registry (102) that maintains a secure mapping between biometric templates and unique patient Health IDs (linkable to existing NDHM Health IDs); Cloud-Based Health Record System (103) that stores encrypted emergency health profiles indexed by Health ID; Hospital Electronic Records (HER) Integration Module (104) providing secure, API access for authorised hospitals to upload and retrieve patient data and biometric matching engine module (105) configured to identify the Health ID and once matched, the system verifies the doctor’s credentials and allows access to the emergency profile.
