Abstract: This invention describes a biomimetic, artificial intelligence-enabled, Internet of Things-integrated, Global Positioning System- assisted agricultural robotic system as shown in FIG – 1 for autonomous subsurface monitoring, root-zone tomography, transient soil hypoxia detection, oxygen flux assessment, georeferenced sensor fusion, predictive crop-health analysis, and adaptive agronomic decision support in root and tuber crops. The system employs worm-inspired peristaltic micro-tunneling locomotion for minimally invasive movement around underground crop zones and acquires synchronized above-ground and below-ground data relating to soil oxygen, redox potential, moisture, nutrients, carbon dioxide flux, and subsurface structural conditions. Acquired data are processed through edge and cloud-based analytics using filtering and predictive models to detect hidden root stress, nutrient imbalance, pathogen risk, and likely yield impact. The system generates underground crop maps, stress indices, and location-specific intervention outputs including irrigation correction, drainage advisories, and fertilizer recommendations, thereby enabling early diagnosis and precision management of concealed subsurface crop stress.
