Abstract: A permissioned blockchain-based academic credential verification system is disclosed. The system comprises a credential issuance interface (110), cryptographic hashing engine (120), permissioned blockchain network (130) with validator nodes (131), encrypted off-chain storage repository (140), smart contract authorization engine (150), zero-knowledge proof module (160), and API interoperability gateway (170). Credential data are hashed and anchored on-chain, while original documents are encrypted and stored off-chain. Validator nodes execute consensus validation prior to block inclusion. Verification requests are processed through zero- knowledge proof mechanisms to preserve privacy. The system ensures tamper-resistance, regulatory compliance, cross-border interoperability, and scalable credential authentication for global digital universities.
