MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611115627 A) filed by Gla University, Mathura on September 26, 2026, for Blockchain-Integrated Smart Circuit Breaker For Decentralized Energy Trading In Microgrids.

Inventor includes Kanchan Yadav.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: A blockchain-integrated smart circuit breaker assembly (105) for decentralized energy trading in microgrids is disclosed. The assembly comprises a microcontroller (100), blockchain client module (101), energy metering IC (102), communication module (103) and smart relay/switch (104). The energy metering IC (102) measures voltage, current, power and energy; the blockchain client module (101) performs authentication, smart-contract interaction and tamper-proof recording on a blockchain network (200). Field-level breakers (206, 207) communicate offers and demands via a transaction module (205). Upon validation, the microcontroller (100) operates the smart relay/switch (104) to permit authorized energy transfer, integrating protection, metering, decentralized transaction processing and physical switching in a common device.
