Abstract: The present invention relates to a power conversion system and, more particularly, to a coupled-inductor-based SEPIC microinverter employing BCM control for interfacing PV modules with a single-phase utility grid. The system (200) comprises a SEPIC converter stage integrated with a magnetically coupled inductor assembly (214) and a BCM-operated switching control configured to enable zero-current switching for reduced losses and improved efficiency. The microinverter further incorporates a controlled semiconductor switching module (236) associated with coupled inductor assembly (214), control module (242) configured to operate SEPIC converter (244) in a boundary conduction mode (BCM), wherein leakage energy associated with coupled inductor assembly (214) is recycled back to power conversion path via SEPIC energy transfer, and wherein the control module (242) is configured to introduce a post-demagnetization delay after completion of inductor energy discharge, such that zero-voltage switching (ZVS) (240) of the controlled semiconductor switching module (236) is achieved during grid-synchronized operation.
