Abstract: The present invention relates to a timed ultrasonic pest deterrent system and method for sustainable agricultural applications. The system comprises a programmable controller, an ultrasonic driver circuit, at least one ultrasonic transducer, a switching arrangement, a power supply arrangement, and a protective enclosure configured for outdoor agricultural deployment. The programmable controller repeatedly activates and deactivates the ultrasonic transducer according to predetermined ON and OFF intervals, thereby generating intermittent ultrasonic emissions rather than continuous ultrasonic output. The intermittent emission pattern reduces behavioural habituation among pests while simultaneously lowering electrical power consumption. The switching arrangement provides controlled activation of the ultrasonic driver circuit and electrical isolation between control electronics and ultrasonic power circuitry, thereby improving operational reliability and safety. The protective enclosure shields the electronic components from dust, moisture, accidental contact, and environmental exposure while permitting efficient propagation of ultrasonic waves into the surrounding agricultural environment. The invention provides a reusable, environmentally sustainable, low-maintenance, and non-chemical pest deterrent suitable for deployment in agricultural fields, orchards, nurseries, plantations, greenhouses, and other cultivated environments. The system may be used independently or as a supplementary component of integrated pest management strategies to reduce dependence on chemical pesticides while promoting sustainable agricultural practices.
