Abstract: The present invention provides substituted 14-deoxy-11,12-didehydroandrographolide (14-DDA) compounds. The present invention particularly provides substituted 14-deoxy-11,12-didehydroandrographolide (14-DDA) compounds having substitutions formed to the exocyclic C8-17 double bond. The present invention also provides their method of preparation, pharmaceutical compositions thereof and their use as anti-viral agents. In comparison the parent molecule andrographolide (90% viral reduction), B1 and B8 show more than 90% viral reduction at all three concentrations in the preliminary screening, they were taken for further studies to determine their EC50. Upon analysis, the EC50 for B1 and B8 were obtained 0.329µM and 0.153µM respectively.
