The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: The present invention discloses a novel class of Carboxyl-functionalized borosiloxane and phenylborosiloxane hybrid resins synthesized through the reaction of GPTMS with aminobenzoic acid derivatives followed by condensation with boric acid or phenylboronic acid. The resins were characterized by FTIR, 1H-, 13C-, 29Si- and 11B- NMR spectra and thermal studies i.e., TGA and DSC. The resulting hybrid resins contain integrated Si–O–Si and Si–O–B linkages together with aromatic and hydroxyl functionalities, producing a unique inorganic–organic network structure. The synthesized hybrid resins function as effective curing agents for epoxy systems and participate in epoxy ring-opening reactions through secondary amine, hydroxyl, and carboxylic acid functionalities, leading to the formation of highly crosslinked hybrid networks. The invention provides cured epoxy compositions exhibiting enhanced thermal stability, increased glass transition temperature, improved char- forming ability, and superior retention of adhesive strength of stainless steel and aluminum substrate at elevated temperatures.
