Abstract: The present disclosure provides a system (100) for point-of-care detection of fungal keratitis. Conventional diagnostic approaches including culture-based and molecular testing require centralized laboratory infrastructure, skilled personnel, and extended turnaround times, thereby causing critical delays in antifungal treatment. The system (100) includes a centrifugal microfluidic disk (102) with inlet reservoirs (104) and a reaction reservoir (106) pre-loaded with lyophilized detection reagents, and a portable centrifuge (112) including a rotatable platform (114), a removable magnetic clamp (116), a spring-loaded height-adjustment mechanism (118), and a transparent sheet (120) carrying an overhead heater (120-2) and an ultraviolet lamp (120-4) in mechanical interdependence with the removable magnetic clamp (116). The system (100) finds application in rapid detection of fungal keratitis at primary healthcare facilities without dependence on external laboratory infrastructure.
