Abstract: An embodiment is a method performed by a wireless device functioning as a beamformee in a wireless network to perform a channel sounding process to provide dominant signal path information to a beamformer. The method includes receiving a sounding null data packet (NDP) frame from the beamformer, determining dominant signal paths for each of a plurality of antennas of the beamformee based on the sounding NDP frame, and transmitting a beamforming report frame to the beamformer, wherein the beamforming report frame includes information regarding the dominant signal paths for each of the plurality of antennas.
