MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611099293 A) filed by Noida International University on August 17, 2026, for Circadian-Responsive Thyroid Hormone Prodrug And Personalised Delivery System.

Inventors include Gunjan Nautiyal; Sapna Joshi; Abhilasha Singh; and Sameer Rastogi.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: The invention relates to a circadian-responsive thyroid-hormone prodrug for management of hypothyroidism. A thyroid-hormone payload comprising T4 or a T4/T3 dual payload is chemically connected to a biodegradable linker. The linker may comprise an esterase-cleavable carbamate or acylal bond and a biological-clock-sensing feature associated with CRY1/PER2-regulated enzyme activity. The prodrug may be incorporated into a PLGA microparticle or lipid nanoparticle having an intestinal mucoadhesive coat for sustained delivery. A personalised monitoring system receives physiological parameters selected from TSH levels, sleep pattern, metabolic activity, circadian biomarkers, and wearable-sensor data and generates an output for modifying a subsequent release-related parameter. The invention is applicable to pharmaceutical prodrug synthesis, sustained thyroid-hormone formulation, endocrine monitoring, and personalised hypothyroidism management.
