MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641085937 A) filed by Mlr Institute Of Technology; and Marri Laxman Reddy Institute Of Technology And on July 14, 2026, for Civic Issue Reporting And Monitoring System.

Inventors include Mrs. Ch. Sharonu Pushpa; Ms. Thogarala Manogna; Mr. Mengan Rishi Sai; Ms. Munagala Vineela; and Ms. Pabbu Sathwika.

Abstract: Urban areas often face civic problems such as road damage, garbage overflow, water leakage, drainage blockage, and malfunctioning streetlights, which are not always reported or resolved efficiently due to lack of proper communication and monitoring systems. This project proposes a Civic Issue Reporting and Monitoring System that provides a simple and user-friendly web-based platform through which citizens can report issues easily without requiring complex procedures. Users can submit complaints by providing essential details such as location, issue category, description, and optional image support to give better clarity of the problem. The reported complaints are stored in a cloud-based system using Firebase, ensuring secure data storage and real-time accessibility. Authorized government officers can access the system through a secure admin dashboard, where they can view reported issues, verify them, and update their status such as pending, in progress, or resolved. The system enables real-time tracking of complaints, allowing users to stay informed about the progress of their reports. By simplifying the reporting process and providing efficient monitoring tools, the system helps reduce delays in issue resolution. Additionally, it improves transparency between citizens and authorities and encourages active public participation in maintaining civic infrastructure. Overall, the proposed solution offers a practical, scalable, and effective digital approach to managing civic issues and enhancing urban governance.
