MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641095105 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Chennai on August 05, 2026, for Cleaning System For Solar Panels Using Mechanical Vibrations.

Inventors include Manas Ranjan Prusty; Diya S; Pratishtha Sharma; and Kriti Saini.

The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a cleaning system (100) for a solar panel (104). The cleaning system (100) may include an actuation module (102) mounted relative to the solar panel (104) to provide mechanical vibrations across a surface of the solar panel (104), a sensor assembly (106) to detect soiling data associated with the solar panel (104), and a controller (202). The controller (202) may be caused to receive the soiling data from the sensor assembly (106), determine a dust-density index based on the received soiling data, determine whether the determined dust-density index exceeds a predetermined density threshold, determine a vibration frequency based on the determined dust-density index when the determined dust-density index exceeds the predetermined density threshold, initiate a cleaning operation by controlling the actuation module (102) to generate mechanical vibrations at the dynamically modulated vibration frequency for cleaning the surface of the solar panel (104).
