Abstract: Climate-Adaptive Train-Induced Stress Tomography System for Welded Rail Neutral Temperature Monitoring This invention describes a climate-adaptive train- induced stress tomography system for monitoring thermite and flash-butt weld regions in continuously welded rails (CWR) and long welded rails (LWR). The system captures and analyzes transient thermo-mechanical stress conditions generated by heavy axle-load train passage. A Dynamic Stress Memory Capture Mode is activated within a predefined time interval following train passage to detect stress-dependent responses including nonlinear ultrasonic harmonic generation, magnetic Barkhausen noise signatures, and eddy-current phase anisotropy. These measurements are processed using a physics-informed computational framework that reconstructs a two- dimensional rail stress tensor and estimates the effective neutral temperature of the rail segment. Environmental sensing and monsoon-adaptive correction algorithms compensate for humidity and temperature effects that may influence measurement reliability. Based on the reconstructed stress distribution and neutral temperature deviation, the system evaluates rail buckling susceptibility, weld fatigue risk, and infrastructure stability, thereby enabling predictive maintenance and improved safety in high-temperature, high-traffic railway environments.
