Abstract: ABSTRACT CLOUD-BASED AI SYSTEM FOR UTC-BASED GEO-FENCED SATELLITE DOWNLINK MODCOD MANAGEMENT A method for controlling downlink MODCOD (Modulation and Coding) schemes in a satellite communication system comprises receiving, at a plurality of ground stations grouped into GEO- fenced regions based on UTC timeslots, an analog RF signal from a satellite, converting, at each ground station, the analog RF signal to digital IF data using a thin modem, injecting a UTC timestamp into the IF data to generate timestamped IF data packets, transmitting the timestamped IF data packets from the ground stations to a cloud-based baseband processing module, extracting, by the baseband processing module, the UTC timestamp from the timestamped IF data packets, determining, by a centralized controller, a downlink MODCOD scheme based on parameters associated with the ground stations and mapping the determined downlink MODCOD scheme to a UTC timeslot associated with a GEO-fenced region, uplinking the determined MODCOD scheme mapped to the UTC timeslot and to the GEO-fenced region to the satellite prior to or during a ground pass, applying, by the satellite, the mapped MODCOD scheme upon entering the GEO-fenced region within the UTC timeslot, and decoding, by the baseband processing module, the IF data using the determined MODCOD scheme to generate user data.
