Abstract: This project presents a cloud-native real-time threat detection system built using AWS services to provide centralized monitoring and security for cloud environments. The system utilizes AWS CloudTrail to capture API activity logs, Amazon EventBridge to route security events, and AWS Lambda functions to analyze events in real time, detecting threats such as lAM privilege escalation, access key misuse, S3 public exposure, and CloudTrail tampering. Detected incidents are enriched with risk scores, severity levels, and MITRE ATT&CK mappings, and are stored in DynamoDB, while API Gateway enables integration with a custom SOC dashboard developed using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for visualizing live threats, incident timelines, and status updates. Additionally, the system supports automated response mechanisms and an incident ticketing workflow to improve response time and reduce manual effort, making it a scalable, serverless, and cost-effective solution for securing modern cloud infrastructures.
