Inventors include Kushagra Bhardwaj; Mayank Tyagi; Mayank Sharma; Dr. Satya Prakash; and Neelesh Ranjan Srivastava.
The application for the patent was published on October 09, 2026, under issue no. 41/2026.
Abstract: An Internet-of-Things irrigation control system (100) includes a soil-moisture sensor (210) configured to be disposed in a root zone of an agricultural plot and to output a soil-moisture measurement, and a wireless-enabled microcontroller (202) configured to retrieve forecast data from a remote weather-data service (108). The forecast data includes a precipitation probability and an expected precipitation depth for a forecast horizon associated with a geographic location of the agricultural plot. The microcontroller (202) computes an expected precipitation contribution by weighting the expected precipitation depth by the precipitation probability, determines a root- zone moisture deficit based on a difference between a field-capacity value associated with a soil type of the agricultural plot and the soil-moisture measurement, compares the expected precipitation contribution against the root-zone moisture deficit, and generates an irrigation-permit signal when the expected precipitation contribution is less than the root-zone moisture deficit. An actuator interface (214) controls an irrigation actuator (104) in dependence on the irrigation-permit signal, and a telemetry interface (216) publishes sensor data and irrigation-decision data to a cloud-based dashboard service (110).
