MUMBAI, India, July 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541001180 A) filed by Bharat Electronics Limited on January 06, 2025, for Compact Hybrid Ring High Power Waveguide Combiner/Divider For Compact Hybrid Ring High Power Waveguide Combiner/Divider For Wr284wr284.
Inventors include Amit Tiwari; Suraj Kumar; and Amit Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on July 10, 2026, under issue no. 28/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates toa high-power waveguide combiner/divider system (100) for WR284 is disclosed, comprising a waveguide ring hybrid structure with four radially placed ports (102, 104, 106, 108) designed for equal power division or combination. The modular angular design of the hybrid structure allows for scalability to multi-port configurations, such as 4-way and 8-way combiners/dividers, by employing multiple hybrid modules. The system features input and output waveguide interfaces compatible with standard WR284 waveguides and flanges, ensuring seamless integration with high-power radar systems. A matched load termination absorbs unused power, minimizing reflections and ensuring a low voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR). The system supports peak power handling of up to 100 kW and provides high isolation between ports to reduce interference, making it ideal for high-power transmitters in surveillance radar applications.
