Abstract: ABSTRACT: Compact Pentane-Based Phase-Change Cartridge for Thermoelectric Waste Heat Recovery This invention describes a compact, hermetically sealed phase-change heat transfer system configured to enhance thermoelectric energy conversion from industrial waste heat sources. The system utilizes a volatile working fluid, preferably pentane, to facilitate efficient thermal energy transfer through cyclic evaporation and condensation within a sealed enclosure. Upon exposure to exhaust heat, the working fluid vaporizes and transports latent heat to a thermally coupled interface, where it condenses and releases heat uniformly to a thermoelectric generator module. The condensed fluid is returned passively via gravity and/or capillary action, enabling continuous operation without mechanical components. The system improves heat flux distribution, minimizes thermal gradients, and enhances temperature uniformity across the thermoelectric interface, thereby increasing conversion efficiency and operational stability. The compact and modular configuration enables easy retrofit onto existing industrial exhaust systems, providing a cost-effective and reliable solution for waste heat recovery and electrical power generation.
