Abstract: Soil stabilization is an essential process in civil engineering to improve the strength and durability of weak soils for construction purposes. In recent years, the increasing accumulation of plastic waste has become a major environmental concern. This project focuses on utilizing plastic waste as a stabilizing agent to enhance soil properties while also addressing waste management issues. The study involves the collection and preparation of plastic waste materials, which are then mixed with soil in varying proportions. Laboratory tests such as Maximum Dry density test (MDD) Optimum Moisture Content Test(OPM), and California Bearing Ratio (CBR) test, are conducted to evaluate the improvement in soil characteristics. The results are compared with untreated soil to analyze the effectiveness of plastic waste in stabilization. The fmdings of this project demonstrate that the inclusion of plastic waste can significantly improve the strength, load-bearing capacity, and durability of soil. Additionally, this method promotes eco-friendly construction practices by reducing plastic pollution and conserving natural resources. Hence, soil stabilization using plastic waste is a sustainable and cost-effective technique for modern engineering application.
