MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641092739 A) filed by Aditya University on July 30, 2026, for Compass-Integrated Scraping Tool And Method For Centre-Referenced Circular Marking And Concentric Profiling.

Inventors include Kasichainula Vydehi; and Dr. Sunkara Sushma.

The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.

Abstract: The present disclosure proposes a compass-integrated scraping tool (100) configured to perform centre-referenced circular marking and concentric profiling on a workpiece (10). The tool comprises a primary leg (102) having a centre pointer (104), a secondary leg (106), a hinge (108), a connecting link (110), and a multi-tool unit (112). The hinge (108) enables movement between retracted and expanded positions, while the connecting link (110) stabilizes relative movement between the primary leg (102) and the secondary leg (106) and maintains a selected radius during circular movement. The multi-tool unit (112) selectively receives a marker (114) for circular marking and a scraping blade (116) for profiling. A thumb screw (118) secures the scraping blade (116). During operation, the tool rotates about the centre pointer (104), enabling accurate circular markings, concentric grooves, circular profiles, and decorative radial patterns with improved repeatability.
