Abstract: A composite hydrogel for sustained insulin delivery and a method for its preparation is disclosed. The hydrogel comprises a peptide- based amyloid matrix combined with sodium alginate, forming a three-dimensional nanofibrillar network capable of efficiently encapsulating insulin with high loading efficiency. The hydrogel provides controlled, sustained release of insulin over 78 to 102 hours. The composite system overcomes limitations of conventional insulin delivery methods by providing a simple, versatile, and tunable platform that enables sustained insulin release, thereby enhancing patient compliance and therapeutic outcomes.
