MUMBAI, India, Aug. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621082037 A) filed by Symbiosis International Deemed University on July 02, 2026, for Composite Material Composition Comprising Epoxy Resin, Hardener, And Triphala Powder With Enhanced Mechanical Properties.
Inventor includes Rahul Baburao Dhabale.
The application for the patent was published on August 21, 2026, under issue no. 34/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT COMPOSITE MATERIAL COMPOSITION COMPRISING EPOXY RESIN, HARDENER, AND TRIPHALA POWDER WITH ENHANCED MECHANICAL PROPERTIES A composite material composition (100) is disclosed comprising 60 to 70 percent by weight of epoxy resin (medical grade) (110), 30 to 40 percent by weight of a hardener (120), and 0.5 to 1.5 percent by weight of Triphala powder (130). The Triphala powder (130) is a herbal extract from Amalaki, Bibhitaki, and Haritaki fruits, rich in polyphenols, flavonoids, and tannins that enhance the cross-linking density of the epoxy resin (110) during curing. The composition is prepared by mixing, pouring into a mold (160), and curing in a curing assembly (150). The cured composite material (170) exhibits enhanced elasticity of up to 2837.5 MPa and hardness of up to 97.5 Shore D, along with antimicrobial properties. The composition is suitable for miniature robotics components, antimicrobial medical surfaces, prosthetics, and endodontic applications, offering a sustainable and eco-friendly alternative. [
