Abstract: COMPOSITE MATERIAL REFLECTOR ASSEMBLY AND PROCESS OF MANUFACTURE THEREFOR Abstract Disclosed is a composite material reflector assembly (50) and a process of manufacture therefor. The composite material reflector assembly (50) comprises a primary reflector (20), a sub-reflector (30) and supporting parts. Being made of composite material, the assembly (50) is a lightweight, has a lower balancing mass on an antennae system and is corrosion resistant. The composite material reflector assembly (50) is thermally stable and has coefficient of thermal expansion next to zero thereby providing a thermally stable product. The composite material reflector assembly (50) has acceptable performance up to and including the Ka band frequency range. The present invention facilitates ease of manufacturing the assembly (50) by adding layers over a tool thereby helping to achieve very thin and stiff reflectors meeting the profile requirements.
