The application for the patent was published on July 10, 2026, under issue no. 28/2026.

Abstract: A composite material is disclosed comprising multiple orientational domains of graphitic sheets combined with domains of graphene monoxide. At least a portion of the oxygen molecules present within the graphene monoxide domains are incorporated into specific structural chemical moieties selected from the group consisting of 1,3-dioxetane rings, 1,5-dioxa-cyclooctane ringsS 1,4,7-trioxa- cyclononane rings, (3,5,8,10)-tetraoxa-(1,6)- 10 cyclodecadiene rings, and polycarbonyl chains. The composite material may optionally include at least one transition metal oxide, as well as intercalated or adsorbed lithium or sodium ions. Also disclosed are electrodes formulated with this composite material, and charge-storage devices, such as lithium-ion or sodium-ion batteries, that incorporate these electrodes.
