Abstract: TITLE: COMPOUNDS FOR HUMAN ANTIGEN R (HuR) RNA BINDING PROTEIN INHIBITION AND METHOD OF PREPARATION THEREOF Abstract The present invention relates to compounds with structure as illustrated in formula I and their synthesis. The synthesised compounds demonstrate inhibitory activity against Human Antigen R (HuR) RNA binding proteins and thereby anticancer activity. The synthesised compounds are relevant for hyperproliferative diseases that have HuR overexpression. Formula I Wherein- R1 is selected from a group comprising hydrogen and chlorine; R2 is selected from a group comprising phenylmethanamine, 2- phenylethanamine, propan-2-amine, piperidine, (4-fluorophenyl)methanamine, butan-1-amine, (3- bromophenyl)methanamine, p-tolylmethanamine and (4-chlorophenyl)methanamine and R3 is selected from a group comprising naphthalene-1,4-dione and anthracene-1,4-dione.
