Abstract: Abstract Disclosed is a context-aware safety system for automatic emergency escalation. The system comprises a mobile communication device, sensing elements, and a remote server communicatively coupled with the mobile communication device. The mobile communication device comprises a user interface for activating a safety monitoring mode. The sensing elements acquire location data, motion data, voice data, route data, and surrounding-condition data corresponding to a user environment. The remote server receives the acquired data and compares the acquired data with predefined safety parameters associated with expected movement, expected route behaviour, distress sound patterns, and unsafe-area information. The remote server generates a risk score, validates the risk score based on at least two different sensed conditions, generates a silent emergency alert without manual emergency input, transmits the alert with live location information to at least one trusted recipient, and stores incident data in a data repository.
