MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611109667 A) filed by G. L. Bajaj Institute Of Technology And Management on September 12, 2026, for Controlled Meal-Container Pickup Apparatus For Canteen And Mess Management Systems.
Inventors include Mohd Abbas; Kartik Rajput; Lav Kuamr Dwivedi; Jai Tiwari; and Dr. Azhar Shadab.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: Disclosed is a canteen meal-container pickup apparatus having a housing separating staff-access and consumer-access regions. Transfer compartments extend through the housing, and each compartment includes a carrier movable along a constrained path between a staff-side loading position and a consumer-side pickup position, together with staff-side and consumer-side closures. An interlock linkage blocks opening of the consumer-side closure while the staff-side closure is open and blocks return of the carrier while the consumer-side closure is open. An order-identification terminal controls selectively releasable latches of the consumer-side closures. Upon receipt of an order identifier, the terminal releases only the latch associated with the corresponding order, and only after the associated carrier occupies the pickup position, thereby permitting controlled retrieval of the prepared meal container.
